Join Mountain Edventures and SheJumps for a two-day version of our popular Intro to the Backcountry Course in Juneau! This course is a safe and inclusive way to experience and learn about the backcountry. This course will cover everything you need to know to get started safely.

We’ll introduce you to the essential gear, talk about navigation, partner rescue, identifying and avoiding hazards, moving efficiently and easily in the mountains, and maximizing fun with an amazing group of mountain women. We have safety gear and backcountry skis with skins to rent on a first-come-first-served basis.

The course includes a weeknight evening meeting to go over equipment and prepare you for the weekend, followed by three amazing days in the mountains! Participants must be strong downhill skiers and snowboarders, but no backcountry experience is required. Reach out to see if this introductory course is for you!
