Cancellation Policy

Deposits and Invoices

Invoices will be sent by Alaska Powder Descents. They are due in full at the time of registration. By request for large invoices, we can take a 50% deposit at registration, and the remaining balance the week before the program.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be given for cancellations 30 days or more prior to the trip date. 50% refunds will be given for reservations canceled less than 30 days before. No refunds will be given for reservations canceled less than a week before the first day of the trip. If Mountain Edventures can find an alternative date for the student(s), then the deposit can be applied to the new dates. This may not be possible based on group numbers.

In the event Mountain Edventures must cancel a day due to conditions or a safety concern, we will first offer an alternative date. If we cannot offer an alternative date, we will issue a full refund for unused days in the field. Given the structure of our program, if we cannot go ski touring due to mountain conditions, we hope to be able to find an alternative activity first (avalanche rescue practice, etc), then provide an alternate date, then issue refunds.

Mountain Edventures and its parent company Alaska Powder Descents reserve the right to cancel or change any trip due to inadequate sign-ups, weather conditions, clients not meeting physical & skill level requirements, safety concerns, and any other reason not listed above. In such a case, a full or partial refund will be given.
